What more do ancient myths have to tell us? And why, millennia later, do they continue to speak to us, challenge us and make us reflect?

 

On Wednesday 24 September at 5.30 pm, as part of a new instalment of the series ‘Let’s Talk About It: In Dialogue with the Present’, Monsignor Bruno Fasani, President of the Fondazione Biblioteca Capitolare di Verona, journalist and columnist, will be in conversation with Cristoforo Gorno, author and television presenter, who specialises in popularising history and culture and is particularly well known for the Rai Storia series ‘Cronache’.

 

The focus of the event will be the theme ‘The myth today’: an opportunity to reflect on the power and relevance of the great narratives of the ancient world and their ability to challenge our present, not least through the fascinating and contradictory figure of Dionysus, the protagonist of Gorno’s latest book, 'Dionysus, the God of Mysteries'.
