For autumn 2024, we offer new thematic encounters, including pages of magic and a preview of the new exhibition on Aldo Manuzio, a chancellery calligraphy course with Ernesto Casciato, and two ‘encounters with the senses’, amidst fragrances and herbs.

We would like to inform visitors that the museum will be closed on Monday 12 August in the time slot from 14:00 to 16:00. 
It will be regularly open from 10:00 to 14:00 (last admission 13:30) and from 16:00 to 18:00 (last admission 17:30).

The Verona Chamber of Commerce's contribution to the new exhibition spaces      

The development of the exhibition area of the world's oldest surviving library continues. Thanks also to the contribution of the Verona Chamber of Commerce, it was possible to implement new rooms, enhanced by multimedia installations that combine the ancient and the contemporary.

By winning the EssilorLuxottica Digital Prize in the 2023 edition of the Fondazione Patria della Bellezza competition, the Capitolare has been awarded a special multimedia exhibition space that will be shown on the big screens in Milan and on Fifth Avenue in New York

Meeting with AbilityArt Association

New appointment with the cycle of meetings "Let's talk about it. In dialogue with the present", scheduled for Friday 19 April at 6 p.m..

 

Monsignor Bruno Fasani will dialogue with Simona Atzori and Annalisa Paganini, artists who paint with their feet and mouth respectively, and with the head of communication of AbilityArt: an association dedicated to the promotion of art in contexts of disability, for a diffusion of beauty beyond all barriers.

A thematic visit to discover the precious palimpsests preserved in the Chapter House, to reveal the secrets of this particular type of "recycled" manuscripts, with the possibility of entering the laboratory to see the multispectral survey instrumentation up close and better understand how it works.

Who were the alchemists? What are the properties of a bezoar? How do you capture a unicorn? Aperitif in Capitolare

A multisensory journey to discover the book object

In the month of June, the Fondazione Biblioteca Capitolare di Verona is organizing a new series of events: a multisensory journey in 4 stages to discover the book object, with a final wine tasting inside the evocative cloister of the canons.

Wine partner of the initiative will be Cantina Tinazzi: for more than 50 years producer of wines from Veneto and Puglia and ambassador of the quality of made in Italy in the world, attentive to the combination of tradition and innovation and sustainable creativity.

The meetings will be held on Wednesday afternoons (June 7, 14, 21 and 28) at 6 p.m.

Special guided tours to discover the heritage of the Chapter Library are back again in March. 

The new event, to be held on Saturday, March 18, will feature Aldo Manuzio and the most famous editions in the history of Italian printing, the aldine.

Herbaria, botanical mixtures and medieval symbols

With the new year we inaugurate a series of special events dedicated to the discovery and deepening of the heritage of the Capitolare Library.

In the first appointment, "Mirabile Natura. Herbaria, botanical miscellaneous and medieval symbols", miniatures and ancient engravings will lead us to the discovery of precious herbariums and texts of botany, from the origins of the discipline to the innovative experiences of the sixteenth century.
