On Wednesday 7 May at 5.30 p.m., we invite you to the new thematic visit “A Font of Rebirth - Baptism in the Christian liturgy”.

‘Baptism’, literally ‘immersion’, is a word that immediately evokes a new beginning, an idea of profound renewal that takes place through water: a very important symbolic element in ancient religions, which in the Christian world will become the gateway to a new life, a new faith, a new community, a new rituality within the sacred space. Accompanied by the scientific staff of the Capitolare, it will be possible to take a close look at some of the oldest and most precious books and liturgical objects here preserved, and through them, to reconstruct the origins and evolution of the rite of Baptism, to rediscover how it became part of Christian life and liturgy, in a close link with other celebrative moments.

The visit is organised as part of the initiative “Regenerated in hope” of the MAB (Museums. Archives and Libraries) project of the Triveneto, on the occasion of the Jubilee 2025, and will also inaugurate the temporary exhibition of the same title, which will be open from 8 May to 15 July.
